TAKES OPPOSITION LEADER IRON-HANDEDLY FOR MISLEADING STATEMENTS
CHALLENGES THOSE WHO NEVER IMPROVED ANYTHING TO STOP MAKING FALSE CLAIMS
“AAP GOVT WILL LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS THAT WERE DEPRIVED OF FACILITIES UNDER PREVIOUS DISPENSATIONS”
Lehragaga/Sangrur, April 20:
Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led government has successfully fulfilled its promise to bring revolutionary changes to the education sector, asserted the Punjab Cabinet Minister Sh. Barinder Kumar Goyal, while informing that under the Punjab Sikhya Kranti initiative, Rs.24 crore has been spent so far to ensure necessary facilities in all government schools of the Lehragaga constituency.
Taking strong exception to statements of the opposition leaders, Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal said, “previous governments neglected crucial sectors such as education, causing the condition of government schools to deteriorate further.”
He said, those who had never accomplished anything themselves should refrain from making misleading statements, adding that the people of Punjab have suffered a lot due to the negligence of previous leadership and now these leaders are making filthy statements to cover up their failures, which are far from reality.
The Cabinet Minister informed that grants of Rs.40 lakh each have been issued for development work even in government schools of small villages and today, government schools are outperforming private schools in every aspect. He said that large gatherings of students, teachers and parents are attending school events. “No effort is being spared to transform government schools, which had been deprived of basic amenities during previous governments, into institutions of excellence in every respect”, said the Cabinet Minister.
Sh. Barinder Kumar Goyal said that the promise was made to the people that major changes would be introduced in the education sector after the Aam Aadmi Party came to power. Over the past three years, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has spared no effort in fulfilling this promise.
He said that under the Punjab Sikhya Kranti initiative, efforts are being made at every level to make government education exemplary, which is boosting student morale and giving parents confidence that they made the right choice in trusting government schools for their children’s bright future.
“With the Punjab Government’s meaningful and tireless efforts, students are now preferring government schools over private institutions, said the Cabinet Minister, adding that this is proving that the Punjab Government’s education model is being widely appreciated. The government is also arranging educational tours abroad to train teachers with modern teaching techniques. He said that 188 students from government schools have passed the JEE Mains examination, which is a clear example of the improved standard of education in government schools.
