Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today inaugurated development projects worth over ₹1 crore in four government schools across the Patiala rural constituency, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to transforming the education sector. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Balbir Singh stated that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has introduced visionary initiatives such as the School of Eminence, School of Happiness, and School of Brilliance, aimed at identifying and nurturing the potential of children from an early age.
Highlighting the ongoing “education revolution” in the state, Dr. Balbir Singh said that more than 12,000 government schools across Punjab are being upgraded with an investment of ₹2,000 crore. These schools are now equipped with modern amenities including high-speed Wi-Fi, clean drinking water, separate toilets for boys and girls, boundary walls, smart classrooms, integrated science labs, interactive panels, sports grounds, and modern furniture. These enhancements are fostering an improved learning environment and instilling greater confidence and interest in academics among students.
Addressing students after inaugurating the development work at Government Primary and Secondary School Seuna, Government School Dandrala Kharoud, Government Senior Secondary School Dhangera, and Government Primary and Senior Secondary School Rohta, Dr.Balbir Singh emphasized that the Punjab Government is committed to providing world-class education in government schools. To support this goal, teachers are being provided with international-level training to enhance the learning experience for students.
He also appreciated the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of students under the Business Blaster program, calling it a highly successful initiative to nurture young talent. Encouraging students to work hard and dream big, Dr. Balbir Singh remarked that the education received in school shapes one’s entire life and has no substitute. He urged students to set clear goals and strive diligently to achieve them, affirming that success can be attained through dedication and perseverance.
During the event, meritorious students from classes 8, 10, and 12 were also honored. The ceremony saw the presence of SDM Nabha Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh, Deputy D.E.O. Manwinder Kaur Bhullar, Councillor Jasbir Gandhi, school principals, sarpanches, teachers, students, and a large number of parents.
