Selected candidates will get free Accommodation, Education apart from Daily Allowance

The Education Department, under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is conducting trials for residential sports wings running in various schools from July 15 to 17, 2024.
Divulging details, School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that Selected players will get free accommodation, education, and a daily allowance in tune of Rs 200. Trials will be held for various sporting events including basketball, hockey, football, boxing, judo, kabaddi, shooting, swimming, and weightlifting, across different age categories (U-14, U-17, and U-19).
He said that on Monday, July 15, trials for Basketball (Girls) U-14, 17 and 19 year will be held at Government Girls Senior Secondary School Mall Road Amritsar, Basketball (Boys) U-14, 17 at Government Co-Education Multipurpose Senior Secondary School Patiala. Under-19 Trials, Hockey (Girls) Under-14, 17 and 19 Trials at Khalsa College Girls Senior Secondary School Amritsar, Hockey (Boys) Under-14 Trials at Government High School Chacharadi (District Ludhiana), Football (Boys) Under-14, 17 and 19 Trials at Khalsa Co-Education Senior Secondary School Badon (District Hoshiarpur), Government Co. – Boxing (boys) under-14, 17 and 19 years trials will be held at Education Multipurpose Senior Secondary School Patiala and Boxing (girls) under-17 years trials will be held at Sikh Girls High School Siddwan Khurd (District Ludhiana).
Similarly, on Tuesday, July 16, hockey (girls) under-14, 17 and 19 years trials were held at Sri Guru Arjan Dev Government Girls Senior Secondary School Tarn Taran, hockey (boys) under-14 at Government Senior Secondary School Jarkhar (District Ludhiana). , 17 & 19 Trials, Football (Boys) Under-14 Trials at Sant Atar Singh Khalsa Senior Secondary School Paldi (District Hoshiarpur), Kabaddi National (Boys) Under-14 trials will be held at Government High School Thuhi (District Patiala) and Judo (Girls) Under-14, 17 and 19 years trials will be held at Sri Guru Arjan Dev Government Girls Senior Secondary School Tarn Taran. Boxing (Girls) U-17 & 19 Years, Shooting (Boys) U-14 Years, Shooting (Girls) U-14 & 17 Years, Football (Boys) U-17 & 19 Years, Swimming (Boys) U-17 & 19 years, swimming (girls) under-17 and 19 years, weightlifting (boys) under-17 years, weightlifting (girls) under-17 years and kabaddi (boys) under-14 years trials will be conducted.
Education Minister Mr. Bains said that it will be mandatory for the selected players to stay in the sports wing. All the aspiring players should attend the tryouts on the specified dates at 10 AM at the indicated venues along with their parents or guardians with original certificates of sporting achievements and academic qualifications and 4 photographs each. Players born on or after 01/01/2011 for under-14 years, 01/01/2008 for under-17 years and on or after 01/01/2006 for under-19 years will be considered for these sports wings. Players of other states can’t participate in these trials.
Aspiring players must attend the trials with their parents/guardians, original certificates, and photographs. Eligibility criteria include age and academic qualifications. No direct participation from outside states is allowed.
