-Advisory issued to stay away from rivers, ponds, and embankments
Patiala, August 25:
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav has appealed to the residents of Patiala district to remain alert and adopt all necessary precautions in view of the rainfall forecast for the next two days. She specifically advised people to stay away from rivers, ponds, and embankments, and urged parents to ensure that children do not venture near waterlogged areas.
Presiding over an online meeting with all Sub Divisional Magistrates and Municipal Corporation officials, Dr. Yadav directed the authorities to maintain special vigilance in their respective areas. She asked them to ensure timely drainage arrangements in low-lying regions where rainwater could accumulate. Additional Deputy Commissioner Navreet Kaur Sekhon and District Revenue Officer Navdeep Singh also attended the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this advisory has been issued to safeguard the public and to prevent any untoward incidents during the rainy season. She assured that the district administration is fully alert and working round the clock for the safety and convenience of residents.
Dr. Preeti Yadav further instructed the Health Department to regularly sensitize people about preventive measures against diseases that commonly occur during the monsoon season, so that the community remains healthy and protected.
