Punjab Vidhan Sabha today paid rich tributes to Bhagat Puran Singh, the founder of Pingalwara, on his death anniversary, hailing him as a epitome of selfless service and humanity.
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that Bhagat Puran Singh Ji’s life was not just a name, his life was a living example – of service, love and humanity. He was such a great person who sacrificed himself for humanity. He sacrificed his dreams, his happiness, his personal joys – everything for the helpless, destitute, sick and forgotten people.
Carrying the disabled Pyara Singh Ji on his back and walking on the streets of Amritsar was not an ordinary thing, it was the highest peak of selfless love. He not only provided shelter to the helpless, but the initiative he took to preserve the environment, plant trees and create awareness against pollution is the biggest guideline for us even today.
In today’s modern and hectic era, Bhagat Puran Singh Ji’s thoughts and his life guide us for public service, especially the elected representatives of this House. The true tribute would be that we pledge to follow the path of service, compassion and humanity shown by him, he added.
