CHANDIGARH, June 16:
In a profound tribute to the eternal testament of faith, sacrifice, and service to humanity, the Punjab Police on Tuesday, organized a ‘Chhabeel’ dedicated to the Martyrdom Day of the fifth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji and the sacred occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi. Cold, sweet water was served to the public outside the Punjab Police Headquarters (PPHQ) in the true spirit of seva (selfless service) and compassion exemplified by Guru Sahib.
On this solemn occasion, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav actively participated in the seva, serving water to passers to provide relief amidst the scorching summer heat.
A large number of senior officials joined the DGP in this initiative. Among those present on the occasion were Special DGP Headquarters SS Srivastava, Special DGP Technical Services Ram Singh, ADGP security Kaustubh Sharma, DIG Admin Alka Meena, DIG Personnel Amneet Kondal, DIG Crime Sarabjit Singh, AIG Personnel Suhail Qasim Mir, AIG Provisioning Ajay Gandhi and Staff Officer to DGP Punjab Rishabh Bhola, all of whom paid their respects and contributed to the smooth conduct of the seva.
Reaffirming the Punjab Police’s commitment to environmental responsibility, selfless service, and ensuring a greener future for generations to come, DGP Gaurav Yadav also planted a sapling of Neem on the headquarters premises.
Speaking on the occasion, DGP Gaurav Yadav said, “May the timeless teachings of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji continue to guide and inspire us to serve society with dedication, empathy, and selfless commitment.”
