Four other government schools also renamed after army brave-hearts: Vijay Inder Singla

While paying rich tributes to the great revolutionary and legendary freedom fighter Shaheed Udham Singh, the Punjab Government renamed two government schools of Sunam Udham Singh Wala town after his name.
Divulging further details, School Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led state government will always be indebted to the great revolutionaries, who laid their lives for independence of the country. Thus, the state government, paying its respect to Shaheed Udham Singh, has renamed two government schools of district Sangrur after his name.
“Now, Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) and Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) of Sunam Udham Singh Wala will be known as Shaheed Udham Singh Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) and Shaheed Udham Singh Government Senior Secondary School (Girls)”, said the minister. He added that a memorial was also being constructed at Sunam Udham Singh Wala to preserve the memories and belongings of great martyr of the Ghadar Party, who assassinated former lieutenant governor Michael O’Dwyer, on 13 March 1940, in London, revenging the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Mr. Singla said that apart from this, two schools in district Moga; Government Senior Secondary School, Samadh Bhai and Government Primary School, Khote have been renamed after Shaheed C.H.M. Teja Singh Government Senior Secondary School and Shaheed Gunner Surain Singh Government Primary School, respectively.
Similarly, Government Middle School, Jhotiwala of district Faridkot has been renamed as Shaheed Hawaldar Sukhwinder Singh Government Middle School, while Government Primary School, Pasnawal district Gurdaspur given the name Shaheed Sepoy Gurdeep Singh Government Primary School, Pasnawal.
