Sri Anandpur Sahib/Chandigarh, November 23

The sky over the holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib was illuminated with a spectacular and poignant drone show, organized by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government, as part of the grand commemorations marking the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru and ‘Hind Di Chadar’ (Shield of India).

This breathtaking aerial spectacle was a profound tribute, narrating the supreme sacrifice of the Guru and his devoted disciples for the sake of religious freedom and human rights.
The visually stunning drone display meticulously depicted the entire scene of martyrdom, unfolding the historical narrative in a moving sequence of light and motion.

It began by establishing the tyrannical atmosphere under the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, whose desire for universal conversion to Islam led to widespread persecution, including the imposition of Jizya and forced conversions, a scenario vividly described in the accompanying audio.

The plight of the Kashmiri Brahmins, who approached Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji for protection, was then powerfully rendered, highlighting the Guru’s unwavering commitment to the principle.

The narrative then transitioned to the gruesome martyrdom of the Guru’s devoted disciples in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk. The scene of Bhai Mati Das Ji being sawed alive was brought to life with striking drone formations, accompanied by the heart-wrenching audio. Similarly, the drones depicted the unparalleled courage of Bhai Diala Ji being boiled alive, with the audio noting his composure while reciting Sukhmani Sahib amidst the horrific ordeal. The sacrifice of Bhai Sati Das Ji, wrapped in cotton and burned alive, was also rendered in a moment of solemn reverence, highlighting his unwavering recitation of Gurbani.

The climax of the show was the solemn depiction of the Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s own martyrdom. The drone formations powerfully portrayed Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s refusal to abandon his principles and his ultimate sacrifice for human dignity, as the audio recounted the final moments before the executioner severed the holy head from the body.

The spectacle concluded with the courageous carrying of the sacred head of the Guru ji by Bhai Jaita Ji to Sri Anandpur Sahib and ar everent and somber representation of the last rites of the Guru’s sacred head and body, instilling a deep sense of devotion and respect among the thousands of devotees gathered at Virasat-e-Khalsa. The accompanying Punjabi narration throughout the show provided a deeply immersive and educational experience, connecting the audience directly to the historical and spiritual significance of the event.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s government has successfully utilized cutting-edge technology to commemorate this historic event, ensuring that the younger generation and the world at large are acquainted with the life, philosophy, and unparalleled sacrifice of the Ninth Guru and his disciples, cementing their legacy as the greatest defenders of religious freedom in world history. This unique drone show, a highlight of the multi-day commemoration, stands as a glowing testament to the Punjab Government’s commitment to preserving and promoting the state’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.

Prominent amongst others Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, Information and Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Tourism Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond, PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar,
