Next meeting November 9 to settle demands of disabled
Chandigarh, October 17:
The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will consider the legitimate demands of the Divyang (disabled) in the state and resolve them soon. This was stated by the Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development of Punjab Dr. Baljit Kaur during a meeting with the representatives of the Disabled Association.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that in various departments, corporations and boards of Punjab, various issues viz. filling the vacant and backlog posts related to the disabled category, promoting the disabled employees, demands related to the disabled sportsmen category, pension demands of the disabled category, Regarding bank loans, other legitimate demands besides free wheat facilities to the ‘Divyangs’ will be resolved soon.
Notably, the Cabinet minister has scheduled the next meeting with the disabled association on November 9 to address the demands of the disabled.
The Minister also said that the Punjab Government is committed to make life easier for the disabled people in the state. She said that all the legitimate demands made by the associations from the State Government will be brought to the attention of the Chief Minister and they will be resolved soon.
The Administrative Secretary of Social Security Department Sumer Singh Gurjar, Director Madhvi Kataria, Additional Director Lilly Chaudhary, Deputy Director Santosh Virdi were also present in this meeting.
