Online Milni on second Wednesday of every month; one physical Milni to be held division-wise
Chandigarh, April 24:
In a significant step towards ensuring prompt and effective redressal of issues faced by Non-Resident Punjabis (NRIs), the Punjab Government has decided to convene two ‘NRI Milnis’ every month.
Disclosing this after a meeting with senior departmental officials at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, Minister for NRI Affairs, Dr. Ravjot Singh, stated that an online milni will be held on the second Wednesday of each month, while one physical milni will be organized every month on a divisional basis.
The Minister further informed that these meetings will be conducted across Malwa-1, Malwa-2, Majha and Doaba divisions, ensuring that NRIs from all regions can conveniently register their grievances and seek timely resolution.
He added that applications for participation in the online meeting will be accepted up to three days prior to the scheduled date, and efforts will be made to address the grievances on the same day.
Emphasizing the intent behind the initiative, the Cabinet Minister said that the primary objective of this initiative is to establish direct engagement with NRI Punjabis and ensure swift resolution of their concerns.
On the occasion, Secretary, NRI Affairs, Mr. V.N. Zade; Divisional Commissioner, Jalandhar and Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department, Mr. Ramvir; Special Secretary, NRI Affairs, Mrs. Amandeep Kaur; ADGP, NRI Affairs, Mr. R.K. Jaiswal and AIG NRI Mr. Ajinder Singh were also present.
