Singla handed over cheque of Rs. 5 lakh to family of deceased-farmer on behalf of Punjab Government
CHANDIGARH / MANSA, December 06 :
Cabinet Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla today attended the last prayers (bhog ceremony) and paid tributes to the departed soul of farmer Dhanna Singh who passed away while participating in the ongoinglarge scale farmers’ agitation against three anti-farmer agriculture laws.
He also handed over the cheque of financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh to the victim family which was received by wife of the deceased farmer, Mrs. Manjit Kaur, brother and children.
Expressing deep sympathy with the family of the victim, Mr. Singla said that the Punjab Government under the leadership ofChief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh always stood firm with the farmers, farmers associations and their families. He said that earlier, warriors of this village Kheyali Chalan Wali had attained martyrdom for the freedom of our country and now the farmer Mr. Dhanna Singh has lost his life for the rights of farmers.
He assured that the Punjab government was fully committed to provide quality education to the children of the deceased farmer and also provide treatment to the injured farmers Mr. Baljinder Singh and Mr. Jagtar Singh.
Mr. Singla said that the Punjab Government has from the very first day taken stern action against these black laws passed by the Modi Government and tirelessly working to address the grievances of the farmers and farmersassociations.
He said that Punjab was the first state in the country where all the three blacklaws were repealed and at the same time a new law was enacted under which anyperson who buys below MSP would be prosecuted and cause the sentence ofup to three years.Mr. Singla, who met the bereaved family on behalf of the Punjab Government and Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh to express condolences also assured to meet the other demands of the villagers.
He also announced widening of road, upgrade middle school from government primary school and send a proposal to the government through the administration for the construction of a park.
