Balkar Singh felicitates 25 youth of deprived section, selected for government jobs
Lauds Satguru Ravidass Education Welfare Society for providing free coaching
Chandigarh/Ludhiana, July 16:
Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh on Sunday said Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was giving foremost priority to the education sector asserting that it is the basis of development of any society.
Presiding over an event organized by Satguru Ravidass Education Welfare Society in local police lines, the Minister said that education was the most powerful agent for bringing the reforms in society on the principles of equality and social justice. He said that the father of the Constitution Dr BR Ambedkar had described education as the only weapon to bring changes in society.
Singh said that dream of the architect of the Constitution B.R. Ambedkar would come true only if everybody receives education as Ambedkar had laid much stress on education. He said that despite all odds in his educational life, Dr. Ambedkar had faced several difficulties bravely and completed his education. Later, he drafted the Constitution which has now become one of the best Constitutions in the world. He added that today’s students should follow the path shown by Dr. Ambedkar and achieve their aims and bring in changes to build a powerful nation.
The Local Bodies Minister said that the Punjab government was working everything to fulfil Babasaheb’s dreams by revamping the education system in the state to benefit students especially from the needy and underprivileged sections of the society. He further said the state government is committed to transforming the government schools of the state into Schools of Eminence.
Singh lauded the efforts of the organization and felicitated 25 youth who got government jobs after taking coaching from the institution.
Earlier, the Minister was also given guard of honour by District Administration Ludhiana.
MLAs Sarvjit Kaur Manuke, Ashok Parashar Pappi, Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal, Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Madan Lal Bagga, Rajinder Pal Kaur Chinna, Jeevan Singh Sangowal, Manvinder Singh Giaspura, DC Surabhi Malik and others were also present on the occasion.
