February 09, 2021 -CHANDIGARH: Soon after Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh virtually launched 56 services newly added to the Sewa Kendras, the Chief Secretary Ms. Vini Mahajan handed over certificates to five citizens who availed the new online services in the state on Tuesday.
With this, the total number of citizen centric services made available at the Sewa Kendras has gone up from 271 to 327 pertaining to different departments in the state.
Handing over the certificates to the first five beneficiaries — Dhairya Agarwal from Mohali, Neeraj Kumar from Lohgarh (both learning licence), Ashu Jallal from Majri (residence certificate), Inderpreet Singh from Kharar and Ramandeep Rathor from Majri (both marriage certificate) — at her office, here this evening, the Chief Secretary said 56 new services have been added to the portfolio of the Sewa Kendras to bring more transparency and efficiency in the delivery of citizen centric services.
“It will further streamline the public delivery system in a seamless manner and would enable the citizens to avail all essential services under one roof, ” she said.
Ms. Mahajan further said the state government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was committed to provide public delivery services to the people in a time-bound and hassle-free manner. “The accountability, transparency, and responsiveness in the public delivery system at all levels will also be ensured, ” she asserted.
The Chief Secretary said the addition of new services from various departments in the Sewa Kendra was another milestone in ensuring the citizen centric services to the people close to their doorsteps and without any inconvenience. She said Punjab was the only state in the country to evolve such a mechanism for the convenience of the people under the governance reforms.
Ms. Mahajan said that strenuous efforts were already afoot to further facilitate the people in their routine administrative works in the state.
Director Governance Reforms Mr Parminder Pal Singh and other officials from the Department of Governance Reforms were present on the occasion.
