PUNJAB ALLOWS IELTS INSTITUTES TO OPEN WITH CONDITION OF JAB; CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS TO REMAIN UNCHANGED TILL JUNE 30

Chandigarh, June 25:

While extending all the current COVID restrictions till June 30, 2021, the Punjab Government on Friday gave much-needed relief to the students pursuing IELTS for their higher studies in abroad by allowing IELTS Coaching Institutes to open.

Giving the information, an official spokesperson said that the additional relaxation has been given to the IELTS coaching Institutes, which are now be allowed to open with the condition of their teachers, staff and students have had atleast one vaccination shot.

Read order:

1. To contain and manage Covid-19, in exercise of the power conferred underSection 2 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, read with all other enablingprovisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, following restrictions areimposed to be strictly and meticulously enforced throughout the State :-

  1. Daily Night Curfew from 8 pm to 5 am and Sunday curfew (from 8.00 pmon Saturday upto 5.00 am on Monday) to be imposed throughout the state; but all essential activities including those covered under‘Exemptions’ to continue to remain unaffected, unhindered and exemptedfrom curfew restrictions.
  • All Restaurants (including in hotels), Cafes, Coffee Shops, fast foodoutlets, Dhabas etc., Cinemas, Gyms, museum to be opened at maximum50% of capacity, subject to all their employees having received at leastone dose of vaccination.
  • Bars, Pubs and ‘Ahatas’ to remain closed.
  • All educational institutions i.e. schools and colleges to remain closed.
  • No gathering of people more than 50 to be allowed, including forweddings/cremations.
  • Non — AC Buses may operate to capacity but no standing allowed; ACbuses to operate at maximum 50% of capacity.

The following activities/establishments shall, subject however to observing Covid-19 appropriate behaviour by all concerned, remain exempted from Covid-19 restrictions above:

  • Hospitals, veterinary hospitals and all establishments, both in public andprivate sector, related to manufacture and supply of all medicines andmedical equipment. Including the manufacturing & distribution units suchas dispensaries, chemist & pharmacy (including Jan Aushadhi Kendras)

(ii) laboratories, pharmaceutical research labs, clinics, nursing homes,/ ambulances etc. Transportation of all personnel of these establishments shall be allowed subject however to production of identity cards.

  • Shops dealing with supply of essential goods, milk, dairy and poultryproducts like bread, eggs, meat etc and vegetables, fruits etc.
  • Shops/establishments selling industrial materials including raw materials, intermediaries as well as shops/establishments engaged in export and import activities.
  • Activities /establishments related to fisheries such as fish, meat and its products including supply of fish seeds
  • To and fro’ movement of passengers travelling by air, trains and buses on production of travel documents. Inter and intra state movement of allvehicles/persons carrying essential and non-essential goods.
  • Delivery of all essential goods including food, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment etc. through E-Commerce.
  • Construction activities in both urban and rural areas.
  • Agricultural including procurement, horticultural, animal husbandry and veterinary services.
  • Vaccinations out-reach camps.
  • Activities of Manufacturing industry, Commercial & Private establishmentsand services given below including movement of all theiremployees/workers and vehicles carrying them upon production ofrequisite permission from their employers :
  1. Telecommunication, internet services, broadcasting and cableservices. IT and IT enabled services.
  • Delivery of all essential goods including food, pharmaceuticals,medical equipment etc. through E-Commerce.
  • Petrol pumps and petroleum products, LPG, petroleum and gas retailand storage outlets, coal, firewood and other fuels.
  • Power generation, transmission and distribution units and services.
  • Cold storage and warehousing services.
  • Private security servicesg) Farming operations by farmers and farm workers in the field.

h) All Banking/RBI services, ATMs, Cash Vans and cash handling/distribution services.

3. District Authorities may determine opening timings of non-essential shops,including on Sunday, on the basis of the local situation, while ensuring thatcrowding leading to the spread of Covid are avoided.

4) District Authorities shall also continue to ensure strict implementation of all the extant directives of MHA/State Government on Covid appropriate behaviour,/ including social/physical distancing, wearing of face masks etc.
