PATIALA,June 04, 2021: Member of Parliament from Patiala Preneet Kaur today inaugurated the first PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen generation plant with the capacity of 1000 LPM, at Rajindra Hospital’s MCH building. Preneet Kaur said that a total of 10 such oxygen plants are being set up in Patiala district and she has dedicated 2.08 crore from her MPLAD for the setup and maintenance of this project.
“These PSA plants will immensely be beneficial in meeting the escalating demand of medical oxygen and will help in making Patiala self-sufficient in meeting its own heightened oxygen requirements due to the Covid-19”, said the Patiala MP while interacting with the media afterwards.
She further said that, “this plant will generate oxygen from air which will ultimately be delivered to the patients through already laid down pipes and it will produce oxygen amounting to around 200 D type cylinders daily.” On the occasion Preneet Kaur also inaugurated a new oxygen manifold setup at a cost of Rs 62.78 lakh at Rajindra Hospital’s newly built Covid ward.
Hailing Punjab Government’s efforts to tackle the second wave of Covid Preneet Kaur said, “The Punjab Government under the able leadership of CM Captain Amarinder Singh had taken concrete steps to proactively combat with the second wave of Covid-19 and had ensured that even when whole country was facing acute shortage of essential supplies like oxygen and medicines, Punjab and especially Patiala did not face any such problem.”
Applauding the efforts of Rajindra Hospital in fighting this deadly virus, she said, “The entire staff and team of Rajindra Hospital deserve a special appreciation for their frontline efforts to save lives. While other hospitals were turning patients away, Rajindra Hospital catered to each and every patient that came their way regardless of where they belonged. The whole staff has been working day and night to save lives, even while putting their own lives at risk and I thank them for that.”
Responding to a media query regarding preparations done to cope with the probable third wave of Covid, Member of Parliament Mrs Preneet Kaur said, “May God help us to bail out from the present situation as the apparent declining in infection graph but state government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has constantly been monitoring the situation and all the requisite steps are being taken to save the precious lives from this pandemic.”
