- Initiates tender process; Aims to complete project in 6 months
Chandigarh, May 14:
The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has decided to construct a new circuit house at Pathankot. The Punjab Public Works department has started the tender process for the same.
Giving information, Punjab Public Works Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that the total area of this circuit house will be 22800 square feet, where two floors will be constructed apart from the ground. He said that a total of 12 rooms have been proposed including 2 for VVIPs. Apart from this, the Circuit House will have conference hall and a drawing room.
The Public Works Minister further informed that administrative approval has been received from the Hospitality Department Punjab for this Circuit House and tenders have been floated for this work. He said that the target has been set to complete this project within next 6 months.
It may be mentioned here that Pathankot district is bordered by Himachal Pradesh on one side and Jammu and Kashmir on the other side but there was no proper accommodation for the guests, officials and VIPs visiting this district from all over the country. Therefore, State Government has started the process for Construction of Circuit House at Pathankot, he added.
