Chandigarh, December 20:
Chief Minister Bhagwat Mann led Punjab Government has released an amount of over Rs.36 crores to private and government hospitals for the treatment done under Ayushman Bharat Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana.
Disclosing this here today, Health and Family Welfare Minister S. Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that this amount was released to hospitals located in other states across the country including Punjab where the beneficiary patients of Punjab were given free treatment under this scheme. Recently, Rs.20 crore were issued on December 7, 2022. Out of the total amount of over Rs.36 crore, Rs.20.35 crores have been released to empanelled private hospitals and Rs.15.76 crore have been released to government hospitals. Under this scheme, free health services worth up to Rs.5 lakhs are being provided to about 44.04 lakh beneficiary families for the last 3 years, said the Health Minister, adding that so far, about 13.60 lakh treatments costing over Rs.1618 crore have been provided and about 80 lakh health insurance cards have been issued.
He reiterated that the Punjab Government was committed for providing free health services to eligible beneficiary families and timely payment of claims. Eligible beneficiaries can visit the nearest listed/government hospital, CSC center or Sewa Kendras for the card generation and can visit the department website www.sha.punjab.gov.in to check their eligibility under the scheme, he added.
