OP Soni hands over appointment letters to 30 Staff Nurses including daughter of martyred farmer
Chandigarh, October 26:
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. OP Soni, on Tuesday, handed over appointment letters to 30 staff nurses in Health Department including a daughter named Kamaldeep Kaur of martyred farmer Gurdev singh of village Khosa Pando (Moga), who lost his life during ongoing agitation against three draconian farm laws passed by Modi Government
Addressing a brief function here at Punjab Bhawan, Mr. Soni said that the Punjab Government firmly stood by the farmers, who were struggling against the anti-farmer laws. The state government was providing financial assistance of Rs.5 lakh to family including a government job to a kin of deceased farmer.
Mr. Soni stated that in a direction to provide quality healthcare services to the people, the health department had advertised for 598 posts of staff nurses and so far 533 Staff Nurses have already been given appointment letters under ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojana’, an ambitious project of the Punjab Government to empower the youth of the state.
He further added that state government was committed to provide jobs to the youngster and to achieve this target, health department has completed recruitment of more than 13000 posts of paramedical and other staff including medical officers from the year 2017 to 2021 till date, while the process to fill more vacant posts is underway, adding that the entire recruitment process was conducted on the merit basis in a transparent manner.
Congratulating newly appointed candidates, the Deputy Chief Minister exhorted them to discharge their responsibilities honestly and diligently. He expressed hope that as the staff of the health department had performed their duties with utmost dedication during the pandemic of Coronavirus, we should maintain that pace in future also. Secretary Health Vikas Garg also motivated newly appointed staff to work efficiently.
