Chandigarh, January 9
Coronavirus claimed the life of one more elderly patient on Saturday while the city reported 50 fresh cases of the infection in 24 hours.
With this, the death toll in Chandigarh has risen 327 and caseload to 20,251. There are as many as 228 active cases of infection,
According to a media bulletin issued here by the Administration, an 85-year-old Covid positive male R/o Sector 49, a case of Coronary Artery Disease and Hypertension has expired at Shalby Hospital, Mohali.
The new cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 59 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
