Chandigarh, April 8
The unremitting coronavirus surge in Chandigarh claimed one more elderly victim on Thursday with the city recording 324 fresh cases of the infection in the last 24 hours.
The UT now has 3,115 active cases of the pandemic. According to a media bulletin issued here by the Administration, a 70-year-old COVID-19 positive male, a resident of Sector 37, a case of Coronary Artery Disease was brought dead at Shalby Hospital, Mohali. With this, the death toll in Chandigarh has risen to 389.
Fresh cases of the infection have been reported from different parts of the city and the surrounding areas of Chandigarh.
Meanwhile, a total of 329 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
