Chandigarh, March 24
UT recorded one more death and 249 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday as the surge in deadly infection continued unabated. The number of active cases in Chandigarh has now risen to 2179.
According to a media bulletin issued here, a 33 year-old COVID positive male R/o Hallomajra, a case of Cirrhosis, Cholangitis and Spontaneous Peritonitis, expired at PGIMER. The new cases of infection have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages around it.
The death toll in UT now stands at 365 while the caseload has increased to 25, 130.
Meanwhile, a total of 136 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
