Farmers protests to continue over three anti-farmers ordinances, threaten to close Hari Ke Headworks on September 14
Ferozepur, September 12, 2020: Hundreds of farmers, labourers and family members protested for 5th day under Jail Bhro Morcha over cancellation of three anti-farmer ordinances, failing the Hari ke Headworks bridge – known as Bengali Wala Pul – will be closed permanently on September 14.
The protesters sit-in dharna in front of the main gate of the Jail, offering for arrest under the Jail Bhro Morcha.
Later, a delegation led by State Vice President, Jasbir Singh Pidi, District President Inderjit Singh Bath, Sahib Singh Dineke and Narinderpal Singh Jatala submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner for revoking the said ordinances.
They said, in case, the government failed to take any action, the Hari ke Head works bridge would be closed from September 14.
The protesters also condemned the lathi charge on the farmers in Haryana adding that the Modi government at the Center is pro-Corporate. We support the nationwide agitation being carried out by 250 organizations against these black laws on the 14th. The government is taking pro-corporate houses decisions under the guise of Covid-19 and no public hearing is being held.
The demands of the farmers include withdrawing the three anti-farmers ordinances, the power amendment bill 2020. Fixing the prices of 23 crops to the farmers as per Dr. Swaminathan Commission
