Mann Govt committed to resolving grievances of overseas Punjabis through direct interaction and on-the-spot redressal

Continuing its efforts to provide prompt and effective resolution of the issues and grievances faced by overseas Punjabis, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government will organise the NRI Milni in Amritsar on September 23, 2026.
Giving details, Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that the NRI Milni would provide overseas Punjabis an opportunity to directly raise their grievances, complaints and suggestions before senior civil and police officers of the State Government. He said the initiative aims to ensure that the concerns of NRIs are heard directly and that every possible effort is made for their timely resolution through coordinated action by the concerned departments.
The Cabinet Minister said that the NRI Milni would be held on Wednesday, September 23 at 11:00 AM at Hotel Le Meridien, near Rajasansi Airport, Amritsar. Overseas Punjabis belonging to Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran districts would be able to participate in the event and present their issues before the concerned authorities.
Dr. Ravjot Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has been regularly organising NRI Milnis across the State to facilitate direct interaction with overseas Punjabis and expedite the resolution of their grievances. He said that NRI Milnis have already been organised at SAS Nagar (Mohali), Ludhiana, Mansa and Amritsar, covering the concerns of overseas Punjabis.
The Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government considers the overseas Punjabi community an integral part of the larger Punjabi family and is committed to strengthening direct dialogue, transparency and responsive governance. He said special attention would continue to be given to issues relating to property disputes, family and matrimonial matters, administrative and legal concerns, besides other problems faced by NRIs.
Dr. Ravjot Singh urged overseas Punjabis from the concerned districts to actively participate in the NRI Milni and bring their grievances and suggestions before the authorities. He said that such direct interaction would help facilitate better coordination among departments and expedite necessary action for the resolution of their issues.
