• DGR creates login IDs of all Patwaris for online verification, says Aman Arora
• Move aims to streamline the verification process for Caste, Residence, Old Age Pension Scheme and Income Certificate
Chandigarh, July 7:
In a significant move aimed to make Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services hassle-free and convenient as committed by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government, the Department of Governance Reforms (DGR) has on-boarded Patwaris in the e-governance system allowing the general public to avail majority of verification services sitting at home. The move will streamline the verification process for applicants seeking various certificates, including Caste, Residence, Old Age Pension Scheme and Income Certificate.
Revealing this here today in a press communiqué, Punjab Governance Reforms and Grievances Minister Mr. Aman Arora informed that the login IDs of all the Patwaris had been created for online verification.
With the inclusion of Patwaris in the online system, he said, applicants would no longer need to visit Patwari offices to get their verification reports stamped and signed. Upon submission, the application will be forwarded online to the concerned Patwari by the respective office if applicant verification is needed, he added.
Mr. Aman Arora further said that this online verification system is designed to eliminate unnecessary paperwork and expedite the processing of essential documents, besides reducing the gratuitous burden on the applicants. By leveraging digital technology, the Punjab Government is committed to providing a more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly service to its citizens.
Applicants can now enjoy the convenience of completing their verification online, ensuring a smoother and faster process for obtaining the necessary certificates. This initiative marks a significant stride towards the digitization of government services and the enhancement of citizen experience, he added.
