Member of Parliament Preneet Kaur Asks MC Authorities to Make City Totally Free of Rain Water Problem

Member of Parliament from Patiala, Mrs Preneet Kaur today visited the low lying areas of the city to take stock of the works done to drain out the storm water.
After taking stock of Kheri Gujjran Road, Karahwala Chowk, Chandani Chowk, Dhobi Ghat and other areas, she expressed satisfaction over the arrangements done by the Municipal Corporation to drain out storm water. At Karahwala Chowk, shopkeepers while expressing gratitude to the MP, Mrs Preneet Kaur, said that after a period of 35 years, they had seen the foolproof arrangements of storm water in their chowk. Earlier, they have to face many a problem due to lack of proper drainage system of storm water from the said place. Doctor Jagbir Singh especially thanked the MP, Mrs Preneet Kaur endorsing the efforts of MC Patiala to make Patiala’s low lying area free of the waterlogging problem.
Member of Parliament, Mrs Preneet Kaur assured the shopkeepers of Dhobighat area to resolve the issue of underground nullah that causing problem to them in rainy days. She directed the MC authorities to complete the cleaning of this nullah within 20 days to get rid of the problem of sludge. She said that the problem would be sorted out permanently.
Interacting with the media, she said that gone are the days, when the Patialvis have to face the problem of inundated with rain water, Now, major problem has been sorted out that is very much visible from the ongoing rainy season. Rest of the areas, where this problem still persists, will be resolved withn a few days, she added.
Member of Parliament further said that Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh and she, are committed to make Patiala, a model city where residents and Shopkeepers would not have to face any difficulty.
