Instructs to fill vacant posts immediately
Chandigarh, November 6, 2020 : Punjab Medical Education and Research Minister Om Prakash Soni today directed all the Management Bodies of three medical colleges of the state to intensify their efforts to reduce the mortality rate of corona patients. He was holding a monthly review meeting of medical colleges here today.
Soni said that the number of corona patients in the state of Punjab has been declining day by day due to this the number of patients admitted in the hospitals established for COVID patients was also decreasing. Therefore, more attention should be made on to reduce the mortality rate.
Discussing the preparations to contain probable second wave of corona virus, Soni delebrated the arrangements with the officials of all the colleges and directed to made elaborate arrangements to fight with possible second wave of corona virus because the number of corona patients increased in Delhi after brief respite.
The Cabinet Minister also directed the Principal Secretary Medical Education Mr. DK Tewari to give consent to fill the post of Super Speciaist Doctor on adhoc basis and also asked him to expedite the regular recruitment process.
Soni asked the Principal Secretary to look into the need of funds for the current year and next financial year.
Medical Education and Research Minister has instructed the Director Medical Education and Research Avnish Kumar to complete the process of filling up all the vacancies in the department as soon as possible and start the recruitment process through Baba Farid University apart from this all other vacancies in the department should be filled through promotions. He also directed to befitting honor the medical and paramedical staff who rendered exemplary services during the perilous times of COVID pandemic.
On the occasion Vice Chancellor Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Dr. Raj Bahadur, Joint Director Medical Education and Research Dr. Akashdeep Agarwal, Principals and Medical Superintendents of Government Medical College Patiala and Amritsar and Medical and Dental Colleges were also present.
