Provides Specialized Training to Medical Colleges, District Hospitals And Grassroots Front Line Workers

Under Mission Fateh, the Department of Medical Education and Research is taking steps to combat COVID-19 through specialized training of medical colleges, district hospitals and front line workers , working at the grass root level by adopting the latest approach instead of traditional methods.
Disclosing this here today Principal Secretary Medical Education and Research Mr. said that in order to provide health services at the district level to fight with COVID-19, department has directed the district hospitals to trace the contacts of positive patients, set up containment zones and evaluate the facilities of category 1 and 2. Apart from this, 3-3 doctors have been deputed to help each district.
He further said that training in patient sampling, treatment guidance and nodal faculty for each district was provided. In addition a Tertiary Care Survey was conducted in the state, which was based on 76 parameters. During the survey, 218 private hospitals have been identified and selected to provide adequate health services to the patients as and when required.
He said that the department has constituted a team of specialist doctors who,if required, provide guidance to the medical colleges, district hospitals and the front line workers working at the grass root level through phone and video conferencing. He said that for the first time various medical colleges of Punjab are working in unison with full vigor to combat this new disease by coordinating efficiently at this level.
Lauding the team of doctors led by Prof. KK Talwar, who proved to be instrumental in combating Covid-19, Mr. Tewari said that due to their guidance, Punjab became able to fight a decisive battle against Covid 19.
