Kapurthala,April 05, 2021: Medical Education and Research Minister Mr. O.P. Soni said that the all officials to ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary so that maximum number of people could avail them.
Presiding over a meeting of the District Grievance Redressal Committee at the local district administration complex here today, he said that the benefits of schemes like distribution of wheat, shagun scheme, health insurance card, pensions etc. should be extended to every beneficiary.
During the meeting MLA Rana Gurjit Singh from Kapurthala, MLA from Sultanpur Lodhi S. Navtej Singh Cheema, MLA from Phagwara. Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, Punjab Agro Industries. Mr. Joginder Singh Mann, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Uppal, SSP Kanwardeep Kaur, senior Congress leader Gora Gill were also present.
Rana Gurjit Singh said that the concrete planning should be done to solve the problem of waste in the cities. Therefore, land outside the city should be managed for that.
Mr. Joginder Singh Mann said that the waste dumped by marriage palaces on the roadsides by the owner should be stopped besides taking strict action against them violaters.
Mr. Soni asked the Commissioners of Municipal Corporation Phagwara and Municipal Corporation Kapurthala to make a comprehensive plan in this regard.
While speaking in the meeting Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala said that the Punjab government has also launched online portals for the people to register their grievances, on which the grievances are settled in a timely manner.
Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Additional Deputy Commissioner General Rahul Chaba, Additional Deputy Commissioner Phagwara Rajiv Verma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Development SP Angra, all SDMs and leaders of political parties.
