Punjab Minister for Social Security, Woman and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur termed today’s Mega PTM (Parent Teacher Meet) Drive an appreciative move of the Bhagwant Singh Mann Government to boost the level of Government Schools pan Punjab.
Attending the drive at Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School Sohana (Mohali), Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the sole agenda of the Bhagvwant Mann-led Punjab Government is to strengthen the Education and Health infrastructure in Punjab. The introduction of Schools of Eminence has totally changed the traditional system of imparting education in Government Schools. The schools have eliminated the myth of disparity between the Govt and Pvt Schools, now. The Government Schools have been showing par excellence in Infrastructure as well as learning level with the introduction of new ideas, said the Minister.
After meeting the meritorious students Hansika Mehra of Class 10+1 Non-Medical, Shelza from 10+2 Non-Medical, Niharika from Class 10 and Alumni Anu, Amandeep Kaur, Akashdeep Kaur and parents of the students studying there, the Minister Dr Baljit Kaur Said that the endorsements given by the students, Alumni and Parents, it is apparent that the Education System has got major improvements in Punjab in the present government.
She said that the Bhgawant Mann Government had determined to meet the difference, if any between the Govt and Pvt Schools and today, the change is visible.
Earlier, while interacting with Hansika Mehra, she was surprised that the girl has already clinched NMMS, PSPTST, E & Y and Vigayan Sewa scholarships besides having creativity in writing.
Minister Dr Baljit Kaur said that the Bhagwant Mann Government is giving equal opportunities to all the strata of society especially those who belong to the underprivileged class to rise in life by getting free education in Govt run schools.
She said that the Mega PTA Drive has provided a platform for parents to get feedback about their children to shape their future better. She expressed happiness over the feedback got from the parents as well as students regarding the school teachers and infrastructure available there.
Earlier she visited the eatery stalls managed by the students of various classes and tasted the products they prepared for this special day. She applauded the move of preparing such dishes and snacks by the Girls as training for self-employment. She also played games exhibited by the students to be friendly with them.
District Education Officer, Ginni Duggal and Principal Mrs Himanshu Latawa while apprising the Minister of this old school, said that thousands of alumni visit this school regularly to pay respect to their alma mater.
