Surendra Lamba, IPS told the press that Mansa Police got a big achievement in campaign against anti-social elements, CIA Staff Mansa party No: 1 nabbed accused Harpreet Singh @ Rocky S/o Baljit Singh R/o Banawala Distt Patiala along with his companion Amnitsher Singh @ Kaku S/o Shamsher Singh @ Ganda R/o Abhepur Now residing at Santan Enclave, Patiala. CIA Police party recovered One Pistol 32 bore along with 14 live cartridge, one rifle .30 bore with 12 live cartridge, 5 cartridge live 12 bore and fake documents and Audi Car bearing No: HR.34F-0786 from the accused and registered in Case No: 187 dated 03-11-2020 u/s 420,465,468,471,419,120-B, 229-A IPC and 25/54/59 A. Act PS City-2 Mansa.
During the initial interrogation of the accused it came to fore that Accused Harpreet Singh @ Rocky is already involved in FIR No: 45/2013 u/s 21,22 NDPS Act PS Shri Fatehgarh Sahib and 10 Kg intoxicant Powder was recovered in said FIR. Accused Harpreet Singh @ Rocky is an absconder u/s 299 Cr.PC since year 2014 in above case. Mansa Police arrested the absconder again after 6 years. It appears that the accused has International smuggling links. Accused were produced before the court and police remand was sought. Now further investigation will take place and the district police is hopeful that new facts regarding the recoveries and their supply chain will come to the fore. SSP Mansa further reiterated that the district police will continue with its policy of Zero Tolerance against Drugs smuggling and anti-social elements.
