Chandigarh 25 April 2026:
The Punjab Vidhan Sabha has passed the “Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Bill 2026” to stop the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which has now become a law. This important decision is creating a wave of joy among the Sikh Sangat.
Events are being organized in different parts of Punjab in honor of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sardar Kultar Singh Sandhwan. The Management Committee and Sangat of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara Sahib, Kotkapura thanked the Chief Minister Punjab and honored Speaker Sandhwan.
On this occasion, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that the Punjab government is fully committed to protect religious decency and sentiments under the able guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Speaker Sandhwan thanked the entire Sangat present in the Gurdwara Sahib and said that this law will strictly curb incidents like sacrilege and strict action will be ensured against the culprits.
He thanked Guru Sahib for giving this opportunity to our Government in bringing this law.
He said that the Punjab government will remain fully committed to ensure the dignity and security of religious places in Punjab as well.
