In a relief for city residents, the Corona virus cases declined as compared to previous days. On Tuesday, 85 persons were tested positive and four died die to Covid19 infections.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 680 active patients in the district at present.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 102 patients (85 new patients from district Ludhiana and 17 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours time.
He further said that till date, a total of 302393 samples have been taken, out of which report of 300773 samples have been received, of which 279646 samples were found negative while report of 1620 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 18739, while 2388 patients are related to other districts/states.
He said that unfortunately, 11 patients lost their lives today (4 from Ludhiana, while one each from district Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Nawanshahar, Hoshiarpur and one each from Jammu & Kashmir & Himachal Pradesh State). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 782 people from Ludhiana and 274 from other districts.
He informed that till date, 44709 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 2666. Today, 156 persons were sent for home quarantine.
He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 4533 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
