Ludhiana-280 more COVID tested positive today,17 people died

The highest number of deaths were reported in Ludhiana district in a day on Saturday. In last 24 hours only. 17 people died due to Covid19 infection and 280 persons were tested positive for Corona Virus.The number of active patients patients in the district is 1868 at present. Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Bagga informed that  sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid 19. He said that 280 new patients have tested positive in last 24 hours time.He further said that till date, a total of 119887 samples have been taken, out of which report of 117606 samples has been received, of 106755 samples is negative and report of 2281 samples is pending. He said that 9826 persons have tested positive for Covid19 and 7577 were recovered.He said that unfortunately 17 people have died due to infections and till now 378 have lost their life.  He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Civil Surgeon appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
