Chandigarh, March 11
At a state-level event taking place March 12 in Mohali, the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land and Finance Corporation will disburse loans amounting to Rs 1.66 crore to 82 beneficiaries of Scheduled Castes. Additionally, Backfinco will distribute Rs 32.45 lakh to 17 beneficiaries of Backward Classes. This announcement was made by the Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, Dr.Baljit Kaur.
The Cabinet Minister emphasized that BC Corporation is promoting the economic empowerment of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes by providing loans to those in need. These loans, offered by the Punjab government, come with very low-interest rates. The minister highlighted that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, the Punjab government is actively working to improve the lives of people from Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes by providing loans.
The minister stressed that the primary goal of these loans is to empower marginalized communities, allowing them to establish their own businesses and thereby enhance their standard of living.
Dr. Baljit Kaur underscored that these loans will help beneficiaries realize their aspirations, create employment opportunities and secure their livelihoods.
The Cabinet Minister reiterated the Punjab Government’s commitment to promoting the economic development of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes.
