Speaker raises issue of accidents being caused due to lack of under bypass at Tehna village
Union Minister assures to build the under bypass at the earliest
Chandigarh, September 13:
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Tuesday evening called upon Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and raised the issue of accidents being caused at village Tehna of Kotakpura constituency of district Faridkot and demanded construction of under bridge at the spot to save precious lives.
Sandhwan brought to the notice of the Union Minister that unpleasant incidents were occurring at the said spot as it is prone to accidents due to heavy vehicle traffic coming from Faridkot and other nearby villages.
The Speaker said that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has assured him to resolve this issue at the earliest by constructing an under bridge near Tehna village. He said that the written approval in this regard would be issued soon. “This under bridge would help in resolving the traffic issue besides helping in avoiding accidents”, said Sandhwan while appealing to the people to drive vehicles responsibly.
Meanwhile, Sandhwan apprised the Union Minister that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has made around a dozen roads in the state toll-free, saving thousands of rupees of daily commuters under its commitment to provide relief to the people of the state.
On this occasion, Sandhwan also discussed in detail about other road projects of Punjab and expressed hope for the early completion of these projects.
