The Phagwara police has achieved success in arresting another accused of 20 KG heroin seize case from Bhulla rai chowk Phagwara from a white colour Verna car numbered PB02BP2850.
The arrested accused has been identified as Gagandeep resident of Daddar Mohalla, Phagwara, Kapurthala.
This was confirmed by SSP Kapurthala Harkamalpreet Singh khakh while talking to this correspondent here today. He said that the arrested accused was nominated in the case following the disclosure statement of Peter Masih who revealed during Police interrogation that he was sent to collect the consignment of heroin by Gagandeep.
The SSP said that the police teams were moved to apprehend him following a secret information regarding the Gagandeep and arrested him from Bulla Rai chowk Phagwara, when he was going in his Verna car number PB02BP2850.
He added that Gagandeep is real brother of notorious gangster Rajnish Kumar alias Preet Phagwara presently lodged in Jail. Peter was also lodged in jail and established contact with Preet Phagwara in the jail.
During the preliminary interrogation Gagandeep revealed that his brother Preet introduced him to Peter masih and both have started the illegal business of heroin smuggling following the directions of Preet and were communicating with each other on Socail media platforms.
The arrested accused has been arrested in the same case fir no 80 registered on August 31 and further added the sections of 29NDPS Act in the case registered at police station Dhilwan, Kapurthala.
The Police had produced the arrested accused before the magistrate and took his police remand for further investigations that the Police would unearth all the links involved in this drug syndicate, said the SSP.
The SSP said that the police would soon obtain production warrant from the court and bring Preet Phagwara out of jail for questioning in the case.
