Doorstep delivery of services through Jan Suvidha Camps: DC
Patiala, August 21:
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav today said that the Punjab Government’s initiative of organizing Jan Suvidha Camps has transformed service delivery by making administrative services easily available at people’s doorsteps. She was addressing a large gathering during a camp held at village Aakad, which benefitted residents of six villages including Pubri, Aakari, Aakad, Sehri, Pabra, and Gopalpur.
Dr. Preeti Yadav said the camps have not only helped the administration understand public grievances more closely but have also ensured their on-the-spot redressal. “Through these camps, all service-delivering departments come together at one place, providing hassle-free access to services in the villages themselves,” she added.
Highlighting the impact, the Deputy Commissioner said that earlier people had to spend an entire day visiting offices for even minor tasks, leading to time and financial loss. “Now these services are available in their villages, saving both time and money,” she said. Beneficiaries also shared that the initiative has made their lives much easier.
Dr. Preeti Yadav informed that such camps are organized every Thursday across different sub-divisions of the district. Services provided during today’s camp included Aadhaar card corrections, social security pensions, grievance submissions, free health check-ups and medicines, issuance of Lal Diary by the Labour Department, agriculture and rural development services, land record-related works, caste and residence certificates, UDID cards and pensions for children with special needs, as well as postal department services.
On this occasion, Dr. Preeti Yadav also paid obeisance at Gurdwara Neem Sahib in Aakad and prayed for the welfare of society. She further announced that special programmes will be organized in the village as part of the Punjab Government’s events dedicated to the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, along with a special development grant for the village.
Among those present were ADC (Rural Development) Amarinder Singh Tiwana, BDPO Jatinder Singh Dhillon, Panchayat Officer Yoginder Singh, Iqbal Singh, Ranjit Singh, and village sarpanches.
