Chandigarh, Oct 01, 2020-2009 batch Punjab Cadre IPS officer Kuldeep Singh Chahal today assumed office as SSP of Chandigarh on Thursday.
Vineet Kumar, the SSP of Chandigarh till now, handed over the charge to Chahal at Police Headquarters here.
Chahal was picked from a panel of three IPS officers sent to the Chandigarh Administration by the government of Punjab which in turn sent the names to Ministry of Home Affairs. The MHA had selected Chahal and his inter-cadre deputation was recently approved after which he was relieved by the government of Punjab allowing him to take over as SSP of Chandigarh.
