-Congress, Akali and BJP only doing vote bank politics, we fulfils dream of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar: Advocate Cheema
-Cheema thanks AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and CM Bhagwant Mann for taking this historic decision for the welfare of SC Community
Chandigarh, August 21:
Taking a historic decision to fulfil the dream of Dr BR Ambedkar, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Sunday said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has decided to reserve 58 posts of law officers in the Punjab government.
Addressing a press conference here, he said, “During the poll campaigns, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and CM Bhagwant Mann had coined a slogan “Baba Sahib tera Supna Adoora, Arvind Kejriwal te Bhagwant Mann karn ge Pura”. Today, the promise has been fulfilled by them.”
He said that there is no reservation in Supreme Court or any High Courts of the country for SC Community but today AAP government set a new benchmark in Indian politics.
Cheema dared BJP and Congress party to introduce reservation for the post of law officers in their respective ruling states across the country and give a deserving chance to educated SC Community people.
Within five months of the formation of the Bhagwant Singh Mann government has invited application for recruitment of law officers from the Scheduled caste community. Cheema said that unlike the previous governments who only used the SC community for vote bank politics and ignored their constitutional rights the AAP is doing something concrete to uplift them.
Thanking Arvind Kejriwal and CM Mann for taking this historic decision for the welfare of SCs, Cheema said that unlike the venal leaders of BJP, Akali Dal and Congress, Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann are working dedicatedly to uplift the standards of SC community and Punjabis. “We are not here to do cheap politics but to bring reforms and give deserving rights to people” said the finance minister.
Cheema said that Mann government has introduced 58 posts including 12 posts of Additional Advocate General,16 posts of Deputy Advocate General, five posts of Senior Deputy Advocate General and two posts of advocates. An advertisement has been issued in this regard on Sunday and the eligible candidates can apply for post by September 13, 2022.
“Previous governments just befooled the SC Community and governed for years with their votes. Even they used to have had only two SC ministers in their cabinet but AAP made five ministers of SC Community and also gave crucial departments including Finance and PWD. AAP is truly standing with SC Community to give them their deserving rights,” Cheema said.
Replying to a media query, Cheema said that it is now crystal clear that AAP led CM Mann is working painstakingly to annihilate corruption from Punjab and he categorically said that no erring officer or powerful politician will be left out if found guilty of looting public money under AAP governance.
Reiterating his government’s firm commitment against corruption and mafia, Cheema said that to ensure that accused get their deserving punishment, Punjab government will present challans in criminal cases before the Court against them within six months while previous government used to not even produce it for years to shield criminals.
Lamenting over misuse of government agencies for political vendetta by Modi government, the Punjab cabinet minister said that BJP is baffled with Delhi education and Health model, which are now getting recognition at global level. He unequivocally said that AAP will not get afraid of these petty tactics of NDA government and will continue to work for the comprehensive development of the people of the country.
