Chandigarh, July 17: While commenting on the statement of Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib regarding insecurity among the minorities, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Sunil Jakhar said that if this is the case then why the Akali Dal which claims to be the representative of minorities especially Sikhs, enjoys power in the Modi government which is allegedly violating the rights of the minorities.
He said that the Jathedar should direct the Shiromani Akali Dal to break its political alliance with the “Modi Sarkar” which was creating an atmosphere of insecurity for the minorities.
Jakhar said that although the Congress party respects the concernof the Jathedar regarding the minorities but still he should be careful while speaking on such a sensitive issue to avert being quoted as spokesperson for the anti-nationals. He cautioned the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to beware of the hidden agenda of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and US based SFJ chief Pannu. He appealed to the Jathedar to act against the separatists who were operating from abroad and also take action against the enemies of the Panth in Punjab it self.
PPCC chief also appealed to the Jathedar to summon SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal following the exposures of alleged links with anti Panth elements.
“After the Sirsa based Dera Sacha Sauda had publicly confessed having alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal, it was now clear that Sukhbir Singh Badal for his own political interests had developed ties with the Dera despite of ban by the Akal Takht, said Jakhar adding that the then SAD led govt did not conduct an impartial inquiry into the incidents of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib, Behbal Kalan firing etc. but also allegedly carried out anti-Panth activities under the guise of truth.
Sukhbir Badal should be summoned by Sri Akal Takht Sahib for visible involvement in such anti-panthic activities and he be charged for the heinous crimes such as pardoning the Dera Chief in return for votes in the last Vidhan Sabha polls, state Congress president said.
