Slamming previous governments for making the youth of state aimless, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said that by handing over 26797 job letters his government has taken step forward towards to make youth gainful thereby making them an active partner in socio-economic growth of the state.
Addressing the gathering while handing over recruitment letters to Veterinary officers, the Chief Minister said that the sole criteria for selection in this entire recruitment process is merit and the entire procedure is being followed in a transparent manner. He said that now these youth have become integral part of the government adding that now they should serve the people with missionary zeal. Bhagwant Mann said that such a whopping number of jobs in merely around 11 months reflect the commitment of the state government to ensure the well being of youth and opening new avenues of employment for them.
The Chief Minister called upon the youth to be grass rooters instead of being parachuters. He said that the grass rooters are those who arise from ground to conquer the entire world adding that for these hard-workers only the sky is limit. Bhagwant Mann said that, whereas the parachuters come from sky and are doomed to fall on ground later or sooner.
The Chief Minister said that the single most aim of his government is to channelize the unbounded energy of the youth in a positive direction. He said that this is the need of the hour to realize the ultimate goal of making Punjab a frontrunner state in the country. Bhagwant Mann said that his government is making futuristic planning to restore the pristine glory of the state.
The Chief Minister said that his government has regularized 14000 temporary employees in the state and the Cabinet has given nod for regularizing the same number of employees. He said that it is for the first time that the process of filling 2100 posts in Punjab Police has been issued and it has been decided to fill 1800 posts of Constables and 300 Sub-inspectors every year in coming four years. Bhagwant Mann said that state government is laying major thrust on putting the state on high growth trajectory of industrial development to open new vistas of employment for youth.
The Chief Minister also said that the state government is mulling to launch its flagship program of ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar’ under which the residents will get the 40 citizen centric services at their doorsteps. He said that this scheme will be available online via app and the residents will get the benefits of this scheme just on a phone call. Bhagwant Mann said that it will enable the residents to get the citizen centric services at their doorsteps in a smooth and hassle free manner.
The Chief Minister gave a clarion call to the people especially the media to ignore those who are trying to destabilize Punjab by inciting the youth. He said that peace, progress and prosperity are the ultimate aim of the state government and this can be fulfilled only with the active support and cooperation of people. Bhagwant Mann said that every effort will be made to further strengthen the ethos of communal harmony and brotherhood in the state.
The Chief Minister said that his government is working overtime to promote allied farming activities in the state to supplement the income of the farmers. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is also laying major thrust on the food processing sector and processing plants for Sugarcane, Leechi, Garlic, Kinnow and other fruits will soon be set up in the state. Likewise, he said that due focus is being laid on augmenting the milk production through Milkfed so that it can expand its operation in other states too.
The Chief Minister said that the products of the state are popular across the globe especially amongst Punjabi diaspora. He said that the products of state have created a niche for its ever growing demand in the domestic as well as international market after having dominated the rural and regional market. Bhagwant Mann said that further endeavours are being made to ensure that farmers get the benefit of the processing of their products in a big way.
Listing the pro-people initiatives of is government, the Chief Minister said that the state government has fulfilled the guarantee of giving 300 units of free electricity per month from July 1. He said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that 87% of the households in the state have zero electricity bills in the months of November-December, 2022. Bhagwant Mann said that he hails from a common family and knows well what are the problems being faced by them.
The Chief Minister further said that the state government has started 500 Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state to impart quality health services in the state. He said that to deliver the best education to the students ‘Schools of Eminence’ have been set up across the state. Bhagwant Mann said that this is the dawn of new and vibrant Punjab adding that the day is not far when with the strenuous efforts of the state government, Punjab will lead the country in every sphere.
The Chief Minister further said that the state government is duty bound to ensure that there is no shortage of power during the ensuing summer and paddy season. He said that the days of long cuts have ended in the state as Punjab is heading towards becoming power surplus. Bhagwant Mann said that due to the efforts of his government the power generation in the state has been enhanced by 83%.
On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar also addressed the gathering.
Earlier, Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department Vikas Pratap welcomed the dignitaries.
