– 934 students enrolled; online courses to commence in January 2025

Moga, December 6 – In a groundbreaking initiative, renowned global tech companies like IBM, Microsoft, and NASSCOM will soon provide advanced training to the students of Moga district. The District Bureau of Employment & Enterprises (DBEE) is facilitating the enrollment process for interested candidates, with courses set to begin online in January 2025.
Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal shared this information while presiding over a district-level executive committee meeting on skill development at his office. Present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagwinderjeet Singh Grewal, District Employment Officer Mrs. Dimple Thapar, and other officials.
“This is the first time that students from Moga will have the opportunity to receive direct training from globally acclaimed companies,” said Deputy Commissioner Sarangal. He added that under the Punjab Government’s Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training Department, new courses aligned with current and future demands are being launched in collaboration with IBM, Microsoft, and NASSCOM.
Students from Moga district who have completed Class 10, 12, ITI, or are graduates are eligible for these courses. To date, approximately 934 candidates have enrolled across 41 different courses, with more youth encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. The courses cover areas such as technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, e-commerce, automation, computing, robotics, hardware, and capacity building. Course durations range from 20 to 320 hours.
“This initiative will empower our youth with 21st-century skills and provide them with opportunities to connect with leading global brands,” said Sarangal. “In addition to enhancing their networks, these courses will also open doors to employment with international companies.” The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the administration’s commitment to including as many youth from Moga as possible in this program.
The free skill development courses are being conducted in collaboration with the Punjab Government’s Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department, and the Higher Education Department. These courses aim to prepare students for future job opportunities and provide them with certificates upon completion.
