RIMC Dehradun Invites Applications for January 2024 Term; Exam to be held in Chandigarh on June 03

Historically Punjab has contributed in large numbers in India’s defence forces but lately this trend has diminished to some extent, with a vision to restore this trend to its past glory, CM Bhagwant Mann led government is on a mission to motivate more and more youth of Punjab to join Indian armed forces.
The Minister for defence services welfare Chetan Singh Jauramajra disclosed that a writen entrance examination for admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun (Uttrakhand) for Jan 2024 Term will be conducted at Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan Sector-15, Chandigarh on 03 Jun 2023 (Saturday),
He further informed that boys and girls both are eligible to apply for the admission to the RIMC, Dehradun. Scholarship amount of RS. 33,000/- is also granted to the cadets of Punjab per cadet per year by the Punjab government.
He said the Candidate should be in the age bracket of 11 to 13 years as on 01 Jan 2024 or they should not be born earlier than 02 Jan 2011 and not later than 01 Jul 2017. They should either be studying in Class Vii or passed Class Vii from any recognized school. Selected candidates will be given admission in Class-Viii. The Written part of the examination will consist of three papers namely, English, Mathematics & General Knowledge. The viva voce/Interview will be held for only those candidates who qualify in the written exam & the date for the viva-voce will be intimated later
Director Defence Services Welfare, Punjab said the prospectus-cum application form and booklet of old question papers can also be obtained by making Online Payment of Rs. 600/- or General Candidates & Rs. 555/- for SC/ST candidates on RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in. On receipt of the payment, the prospectus-cum-application form and booklet of old question papers will be dispatched by Speed post only. Or
The prospectus-cum-application form and booklet of old question papers can also be obtained by sending a written request with Demand Draft of Rs. 600/- for General Candidates and Rs 555/- for SC/ST candidates alongwith caste certificate in favour of “The Commandant RIMC Dehradun”, Drawee Branch payable at SBI, Tel Bhavan, Dehradun, (Code 01576) Uttarakhand. The Address should be TYPED/WRITTEN clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS with pin code and contact number.
Applications are to be submitted in duplicate. The documents which are required to be attached are as follows- Birth Certificate, State Domicile Certificate, SC/ST Certificate, three passport size photographs, photocopy of Aadhar Card of Candidate (both sides) and A Certificate from the principal of the current School, in original with photograph affixed on it duly attested, stating date of birth and class in which student is studying.Completed applications must reach Directorate Defence Services Welfare Punjab, Punjab Sainik Bhawan Sector 21-D, Chandigarh on or before 15 Apr 2023.
