UT recorded four more deaths due to coronavirus on Monday taking the death toll to 222. The city also logged 47 fresh cases of the infection during the past 24 hours. With this, the total number of patients found positive in the city so far has climbed to 14,085. The figure includes as many as 633 active cases.
According to a medical bulletin, an 83 year old female R/o Sector 36, a case of Coronary Artery Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease and Hypertension, who tested COVID positive, expired at Fortis Hospital, Mohali on Saturday. A 58-year-old male R/o Sector 38 west, a case of Coronary Artery Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, who tested COVID positive expired at PGIMER on Monday. A 77-year-old female R/o Sector 35, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, who tested COVID positive, expired at Mukat Hospital, Chandigarh on Sunday. A 78-year-old male R/o sector 4, who tested COVID positive, expired at Max Hospital, Mohali on Monday.
Fresh cases of infection have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, A total of 63 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
