Patiala, October 1.The further spread of infection of the dreaded Novel Corona Virus disease in Patiala district seemed to be under control as on Thursday four more deaths were reported taking total to 325 and with reporting of 71 new positive cases total number of patients have also gone upto mark of 11,636.As far as COVID-19 is concerned the district is showing a recovery rate of over 86 percent and death rate of 2.8 percent and more and more infected persons and patients are coming forward winning fight against this disease with the passing of each day.On the other hand today 151 more patients were discharged from Covid care centers and sent homes after gaining total curing with this total number of cured patients also rose to 10,126. Besides total number of active cases also touched to 1,185.The Civil Surgeon, Dr. Harish Malhotra while providing details about the same here on Thursday further told that today reports of 2,350 samples were received out of these 71 found new positives. He said that out of these 47 came from Patiala, four from Rajpura, 10 from Nabha, 3 from block Bhadson, 2 each respectively from block Kauli and block Dudhan Sadhan, one each respectively from block Kalo Majra, block Harpalpur and block Shutrana.He added that out of these 10 came from contact tracing of earlier positive cases and 61 from containment zone areas and OPD’s with Flu symptoms. He said that the shifting and admission into Covid care centers, isolation facility and home quarantine is going on besides contact tracing and sanitization of respective areas too.Talking about four more deaths reported today , he told that out of these 2 belonged to Patiala and one each respectively to Rajpura and block Shutrana and these includes two women patients. He added that these patients were under treatment in various hospitals for their Chronic diseases during which got COVID- 19 infection and died and their cremation got performed strictly as per new guidelines issued by the government.Dr. Malhotra said that in view of reporting of more and more positive cases from Yadvindra Colony adjoining Baradari Garden at Patiala the area was brought under micro- containment zone restriction, whereas micro- containment zone area restriction was removed from area under Urban Estate Phase -2 here.He added that today teams of the health department have collected 2,300 more samples from the district and these were sent into Lab for testing, whereas reports of 1,300 samples are still pending.
