Patiala,September 24. Despite with a recovery rate of over 82 percent and death rate of just 2.7 percent overall position in Patiala district concerning spread of dreaded Novel Corona Virus disease is showing signs of improvement but still on Thursday it took four more lives taking total death tally to 302, on the other hand with reporting of 135 new positive cases total number of Corona patients have touched to figure of 10,902.Whereas under the ongoing Mission Fateh against Corona today 206 more patients won their battle against Corona and discharged and sent home after recovering fully thus taking total tally of cured patients to 8,925. Thr total of active cases also touched to figure of 1, 675.The Civil Surgeon, Dr. Harish Malhotra while providing details about the disease told late this evening here that today reports of 2,100 samples were received from the Lab out of these found 135 new positive cases in the district. He added that out of these 59 cases came from Patiala, 18 from Samana, 10 from Rajpura, 4 from block Bhadson, 2 from block Kauli, 7 from block Kalo Majra, 5 from block Harpalpur , 6 from block Dudhan Sadhan and 10 from block Shutrana.Dr. Malhotra said that out of these 16 cases came from contact tracing of earlier positive cases and 119 from containment zone areas and OPD’s with Flu Symptoms and their shifting to Covid care centers, isolation facility and home quarantine as well as contact tracing and sanitization of their respective areas is also going on smoothly.Turning towards four deaths reported in the district today he said that one each death was reported from Patiala, Nabha, Samana and Block Harpalpur and it includes a woman. He said that all the deaths were reported from the hospitals as these patients were under treatment for their chronic diseases but as got infection of COVID-19 so died and their Last rites were also got performed strictly as per the new guidelines issued for COVID–19 by the government.He added that so far a total of 1, 43, 783 samples were collected and tested in the district out of these 1,31, 181 found negative, 10,902 positives, 8,925 cured, 1,675 total active cases and 302 total deaths.He said that today teams of the health department have collected 2,200 more samples in the district and sent these in Lab for testing, whereas reports of 1,400 samples are still pending.
