Mann government fulfills long-pending demand of Dirba residents: Harpal Singh Cheema
Sub-divisional complex will be completed within a year
Chandigarh/Dirba (Sangrur), May 22
Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Monday thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for laying the foundation stone of the Sub Divisional Complex at Dirba. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann fulfilled the long-pending demand of the people of the Dirba sub-division.
Sharing these words after the foundation stone ceremony held at Dirba, Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that as a leader of the opposition he had raised this legitimate demand of the people of Dirba time and again, but the previous government failed to pay attention to people’s issues. The Minister said that as soon as the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann came to power, he engaged himself in preparing the outline of this important project to make it a reality.
Cheema said that this state-of-the-art sub-divisional complex is being constructed at a cost of around Rs. 9.06 Crore whereas an administrative approval of Rs 10.68 crore has been granted for this project. He said that the Punjab government is ensuring to use every single penny of the people in an efficient manner, and following this policy, the government would save about 14 percent in the construction of this complex.
Divulging further, The Finance Minister said that the office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate, DSP office, Tehsil Office, BDPO Office, CDPO Office, and Fard Center will be established in this complex to be built in an area of 9 acres. The Cabinet Minister said that around 1 lakh people of 35 villages and urban areas falling under this subdivision will be able to get various administrative services on time from these public offices. He said that the officials of the Public Works Department have been directed to complete the construction process of the complex within a year.
