Assures early resolution of legitimate demands
Chandigarh, April 9
Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema held a meeting with the Punjab Roadways Punbus/PRTC Contract Workers Union on Wednesday to address their demands comprehensively. The meeting took place at his office in the Punjab Secretariat and was attended by Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar and Additional Chief Secretary (Transport) D.K. Tiwari.
During the discussions, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema reaffirmed the Punjab government’s commitment to the welfare of its employees under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He said that the Cabinet Sub-Committee, which he chairs, has implemented a policy aimed at regularizing the services of numerous contract-based employees without subjecting them to legal hurdles.
The Finance Minister asked the Transport Department to prepare a detailed report on the union’s demands and proposed solutions. He further said that this report be presented in the next meeting with the union to facilitate prompt action on the issues raised.
The meeting held in a cordial atmosphere was attended by key representatives of the Punjab Roadways Punbus/PRTC Contract Workers Union, including State President Resham Singh Gill, State Vice President Harkesh Kumar Vicky, General Secretary Shamsher Singh Dhillon.
