Ferozepur, August 17, 2020:(HARISH MONGA) -The total corona positive cases in the district have gone to 1118, highest since the outbreak of the virus, with 166 reported today. With one more death reported today, the figure has reached 17.
Ferozepur today witnessed 166 COVID positive cases, which is attributed to backlog lab- sample reports of 2- 3 days and a high increase in sampling over the past one week. Though the trend is Incremental however is not alarming, as we had predicted a steady rise in cases owing to increased sampling, which is being witnessed throughout the state. The need of the hour is to stringently observe all COVID related precautions over the next few weeks so that we can avoid any huge surge, said DFO-cum-Nodal officer COVID.
As per the information, presently the active Corona positive cases in the district are 646 while 456 patients have since recovered and discharged.
Among the total 166 reported today, 13 are pregnant women, 28 police personnel, 38 new cases, 46 contact cases, while 8 each are in DT and IT category from Dubai, Canada, Australia, Muskat. However, the detail of one is still awaited.
