Ferozepur, May 11, 2022: The Ferozepur Police today interstat an interstate gang involved in the supply of opium with arrest of two I Street are drug smugglers with recovery of 10 kg of opium from then.
Divulging with details, Charanjit Singh, SSP informed that Kuldeep Singh son of Amrik Singh resident of village Musa Kalan police station Jhabal, district Tarn Taran and Nishan Singh Jaswant Singh resident of village Vakilan Wala police station Sadar Zira, who are known to each other, are in the business of selling opium.
Both Mukhtar Singh and Rajan of Makhu have been engaged as Driver and cleaner on Ghoda Tralla owned by Kuleep Singh and Nissan Singh bearing number PB -03-BE -8654.
A tip was received that even today the driver and cleaner are carrying a large consignment of opium from outside the state, from Gauhati and Assan, arranged by Kuldeep Singh and Nishan Singh through Ferozepur Moga Road today.
SSP said, working actively on the tip odd, two accused identified Mukhtiar Singh and Rajan along with the truck were arrested after a blockade by the police party when they were on their way to deliver consignment of drugs to their clients
and on search of the vehicle, 10 kg of opium was recovered during the search, hide in the plastic bags in cardboard boxes.
SSP said, A case under Sections 18, 25, 29, 61 and 85 of NDPS Act has been registered at Kukgarhi police station and further investgations have been entrusted to Parminder Singh, IO.
One of the four accused, Nishan Singh, as per the record, is already booked under NDPS Act, in three casest Zira of 2005 and 2009 and one at Kot Kapura of 2013. However, the hun this on to nab the main accused Kuldip Singh and Nishan Singh. In-depth investigation will also be carried out on getting the police remand by producing the accused in the court.
